Welcome to 2015

2014 was a rebuilding year. (Which is what the Steelers should be doing right now, but that’s not why we’re here, is it?) I spent it making lots of personal moves. Big decisions, lots of commitments. But I also spent it finishing Wondermelt. And that was a really good thing.

I’m hoping to have some fabulous news to post here in a few short weeks regarding that. But for now, I’m taking pride in the fact that I finished my second book and first novel. I’m very happy with it. And already beginning the basic storyboard for the next one.

So, 2015, it’s time to reap the rewards of all that foundation I laid. Can’t wait to see what comes next. I hope all of you have an equally fulfilling year.

Pride

I’m starting a new idiom – “Pride cometh before the multimillion-dollar book deal.”

Yes, I’m feeling proud – and twitchy and anxious and excited – because I am now officially querying agents for my new book, Wondermelt. I sent my first five emails tonight.

It’s a grueling process. But the book is worth it. And as my friend said, “You’re not terrified. This is what you want. Do it. You have to do it. You have to do it so you can do all the others.” He’s right, not that anyone’s surprised.

So! Here’s to this one, and that one, and all the others.

(And maybe, once the publishers’ bidding war has died down, I’ll even come back here and start blogging again.)
